Substance Abuse Prevention services use a Basic Life Skills curriculum in targeted schools in Jackson county to teach middle-school aged children how to make healthy life choices. In addition to ongoing middle school involvement, staff are available to support and train Jackson County teachers, school groups and community groups who want to improve their own knowledge and skill related to substance abuse prevention.
The Illinois Department of Human Services funds substance abuse prevention services.
