Young, single homeless persons ages 18-21, and adults who are at least 18 and who are both mentally ill and homeless, may qualify for homeless services.  The first priority is to connect an individual to family or community food and shelter resources.  Other services include assistance with: establishing legal identity by obtaining identification documents; identifying and obtaining medical and psychiatric resources; applying for public benefits; identifying and obtaining safe and affordable housing; enrolling in age-appropriate educational programs; obtaining and retaining employment; and learning basic life skills including household maintenance and money management.

How to Apply –  Walk-in hours are from 1 - 3 PM, Monday through Friday. More information can be obtained by calling SIRSS at 618-457-6703 and asking for Mike Rohling at Extension 256.
