If a disorder is diagnosed, treatment is a partnership between the youth (under age 18), family and counselor that builds on strengths and addresses needs. If everyone agrees, psychiatric services at SIRSS or elsewhere in the community may be part of treatment. In rare instances where need is great, Second Home may provide therapeutic foster care. Youth who are at least twelve years old may consent to their own confidential substance abuse treatment. SIRSS accepts payment from Medicaid, KidCare and some private insurers. Some families are eligible for services at discounted rates. Priority for service is given to residents of Jackson County.
