Homeless Services for Youth
Homeless Youth services provide safe, stable, supervised independent living arrangements, basic life skills enhancement and case management services to qualified youth. We assist youth in achieving a smooth transition to independent living, gainful employment, education completion and improving level of functioning. Eligible youth must be 16 years of age and no older than 21. Youth under the age of 18 must have written consent from their parent or guardian to participate in services.
More information may be obtained by calling 618-457-6703, ext. 290 or 244.
Homeless Services for Adults
Adults who are at least 18 years of age and who are both mentally ill and homeless may qualify for homeless services. The first priority is to connect an individual to family or community food and shelter resources.
Other services include assistance with: establishing legal identity by obtaining identification documents; identifying and obtaining medical and psychiatric resources; applying for public benefits; identifying and obtaining safe and affordable housing; enrolling in age-appropriate educational programs; obtaining and retaining employment; and learning basic life skills including household maintenance and money management.
Homeless services are subsidized by the Illinois Department of Human Services, so there is little or not cost to participants.
