About Us

Southern Illinois Regional Social Services (SIRSS) was established in Jackson County Illinois in 1960, as a private, not-for-profit 501(c)(3), full-service, community mental health center.

For 50 years, SIRSS has fulfilled its mission of “Building Better Lives by fostering hope and supporting recovery through prevention, family support, mental health and substance abuse services.”

With over 2,000 persons served annually, SIRSS’ proven practices make a dramatic impact on the people they help and an equally important impact on maintaining the community’s quality of life.

SIRSS’ valuable work saves the community precious resources at hospitals and police departments, aids in local work force productivity, provides for a superior school environment and helps keep the community’s social fabric intact. All services are directed toward building resiliency and strength by helping people through difficult times in their lives.
