Volunteer Roles

Joining a Board and/or Committee – contact Karen Freitag at 457-6703, X 248  

Being a Big brother or Big Sister, which involves committing 1 hour a week for one year to being a friend to a child – contact Lisa Wait at 457-6703, x 266  

Being a “greeter” at events, welcoming people and making sure they are comfortable, and being able to answer questions and talk about why SIRSS is important – contact Peg Falcone at 457-6703, x 227

Helping with the capital campaign – contact Peg Falcone at 457-6703, x 227

·       Organizing lists of people to call to ask for appointments or donations

·       Calling or visiting with people to ask for financial assistance

·       Introducing SIRSS staff to people and businesses that might want to contribute

·       Scheduling SIRSS presentations to churches, clubs, businesses and other organizations

·       Coordinating with SIRSS liaison to hold fundraisers on behalf of SIRSS 

·       Hosting SIRSS “receptions” on behalf of the capital campaign

·       Donating or helping to secure in-kind donations of labor, materials and services

·       Making a personal or business financial contribution

Participating in SIRSS fundraisers and events, like Bowl for Kids’ Sake, Trivia Night, Golf Scramble

Hosting a party for residents at Cornerstone Place Apartments – contact Ben Briggs at 457-6703, x 226

Being “on-call” at short notice to assist with office tasks such as copying and stuffing envelopes – contact Peg Falcone at 457-6703 x 227

Donating expertise on reviewing our website and/or in how to do e-mail and web-based marketing and education – contact Peg Falcone at 457-6703 x 227

Donating entertainment items like tickets to sports or cultural events, or your leadership and/or supplies for a group craft or hobby activity session – contact Jean Alstat at 457-6703 x 228

Donating “starter kit” items for people moving into their own apartment for the first time – sheets, towels, bath mat, blankets, pillows, pots, pans, silverware, dishes, hygiene items, food cards from grocery stores and Wal-Mart – contact Jean Alstat at 457-6703 x 228
